In supporting the campaigning of measles, malaria and vitamin A, Islamic preaching institution of Nahdlatul Ulama (LDNU) will conduct road preaching in 8 provinces, namely West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Lampung, Riau, Kepri, Bengkulu, Bangka Belitung, and Jambi.
The road show will involve NU figures through Islamic preaching (majelis taklim) and Islamic boarding school (pesantren).
<>According to organizing committee chief Anisa Rahmawati, there will be 650 Islamic clerics, numbers of majelis taklim figures, and pesantrens, conducting road preaching in 30 regencies of 8 provinces.“We will technically collaborate with NU autonomous bodies in each regency, subdistrict, and village in each expected province,” said Annisa at LDNU office in Jakarta, Monday (14/8).
While, the preachers involved in the program will be reportedly trained by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO) and will accompanied by health officials and regional board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PWNU) in each province.
“On last August 12, the (same) program was also conducted simultaneously in four provinces, namely Lampung, West Sumatra, Bangka Belitung and Riau. While for other four provinces, the training will be undertaken on August 19 ahead,” Anisa added. (nam)
