PT Lapindo Brantas Inc. asserted that the hot mudflow coming out of its exploration well was not dangerous. But in fact, many patients have recently come to health posts to get treatment.
It was said that tens of medical posts were managed to assist local residents as a result of the hazardous hot mudflow. The total of victims until now are amounted to 11.000 patients with any painful complaints.
<>Data collected by Satkorlak PBP Sidoarjo, Tuesday (4/7), mentioned that since the hot mudflow at a gas drilling well owned by the company, which has displaced hundreds of local residents and forced nearby factories to suspend operations, the medical team has prepared about 16 health posts throughout the region.
The health posts are such as Porong’s Local Clinic, Health Post of Siring, Jatirejo, and Renokenongo, Refuge Health Post Pasar Baru Porong, Bhayangkara Hospital, Sidoarjo’s Regional Public Hospital.
From the total of patients who checked up their health conditions, about 195 ones had ever been under the treatment in hospitals. They have most of them suffered from the respiratory track (ISPA), diarrhea, queasy, and other pains. (yud)
