There have been some Islamic groups having no concern with their legacy and reality of Nusantara. They are likely strangers in the beloved country of theirs. When has this come into existence. Whereas the Islamic preachers have had a closely relationship to the country. We can say, this is caused by their far distance from literature, pesantren’s literature.
The monthly discussion would like to raise a topic entitled: “Pesantren’s Man of Letters to See Nusantara’s Reality.” This is held in cooperation with the Center for Documentation of Literature of Pesantren Ciganjur, Friday (30/6) in the meeting room of NU Online. The limited discussion will be guided by a young poet Binhad Nurrohmad, and present a keynote speaker, as a novelist KH Ahmad Tohari.
<>“At present in our country, there are some conducting propaganda and such a movement intolerant with legacies and reality of Nusantara, where many ethnics, traditions, and religions live in. These Islamic groups have no tolerance to Nusantara’s Islamic legacies. The raising question is how the pesantren’s man of letters examine this?” Binhad asked.
Dealing with definition of pesantren’s man of letters, Binhad argued that pesantren’s man of letters have ever lived in pesantren, have ever been socially in pesantren milieu. Literature constitutes a product of worldview. Now we talk about pesantren milieu.
“If the are some asking definition of pesantren’s literature, please insist them to study in faculty of engineering. Now is there an appropriate definition of “Indonesian literature”, it is absolutely nothing, for the existing literature is now that using Indonesian language,” binhad said.
The discussion will invite poets and literature analysts such as Jamal D Rahman, Eds S Supadmo, Wowok Hesti Prabowo, Chavchay Syaifullah, Firdaus Muhammad, Farahdiba, Febi Indirani, Imam Muhtarom, Ahmad Baso, M. Dienaldo, Enceng Sobirin, Nuruddin Ayshadie, Masduki Baidlowi, and Arief Mudatsir Mandan.
