TI calls for bureaucratic reform

Jakarta, NU Online Graft watchdog Transparency International (TI) Indonesia asked President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to promptly embark on massive bureaucratic reform to tackle rampant corruption at government agencies. TI Indonesia chairman Todung Mulya Lubis said Wednesday that Yudhoyono should embark on a purge of corrupt officials at a number of government agencies, including the police, courts, tax and immigration offices, customs and excise office and the military.

Rabat, NU Online The Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon said that the issue of Jerusalem is extremely sensitive for the Muslim world. "The Old City of Jerusalem is a place of deep significance for the Muslim, Jewish and Christian faiths. It is our firm belief that the status of the Old City and the religious sites within it are extremely sensitive final status issues, that can only be resolved through negotiations," the UN Secretary General said in his reply to the urgent letter sent to him last week by the Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Tuwaijri.

RI Seeking Cooperation with Islamic Countries to Reduce Terrorist Threat
