Banyuwangi’s Residents to Keep on Guard against Quake and Tsunami

Banyuwangi, NU OnlineBanyuwangi’s Meteorological Agency issued Friday warnings of a possible Tsunami around the Banyuwangi south coast. It then expected Banyuwangi’s residents to keep on guard against the quake and tsunami. As reported by the national news agency Antara, the spokesman of the Banyuwangi’s Metereological Agency, Himawan said that the south coast of Banyuwangi is one of vulnerably earthquake belt areas. He suggested that in 1994 the south coast of Banyuwangi was ever struck by the quake and tsunami.

It is purposefully expected to be central pillar and supplying agency of Nahdliyin’s needs that most of them are farmers. In socializing it, several weeks ago, hosted in PCNU office, participants coming from Branch Representative Council Board (MWC) and NU institutions, participated enthusiastically in such a program by inviting experts of cooperation.

Blitar's NU youngs support solidarity act

Jakarta, NU OnlineLast Saturday’s earthquake in Yogyakarta and Central Java has awakened public concern including young generation that so-called as Nahdlatul Ulama Students Association (IPNU).  25 members of  Blitar’s IPNU, East Java arrived at Bantul, Saturday (10/6). They pitched a tent as temporary place taking in refugees for the destruction about 95% of residents’ houses exactly in Conden, Jetis, and Bantul. They reportedly would help Saturday’s victims for a week.
