The words of the chairman of the Indonesia’s biggest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Said Agil Siradj over the possibilities of Muslim countries to use oil as such a capital in dealing with the hegemony of the West , as reported by this (NU Online) news portal, are really important to examine. From a large number of oil-producing countries of what called as the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) holding a meeting in Saudi Arabia over the weekend, it’s clear that most of its members are Muslim countries. Yet, with their abundant natural resources, Islamic countries including Indonesia have not yet addressed their economic demands.
