Quality, the main problem faced by NU's educational institutions

Jember, NU Online Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Board of Jember, East Java, KH Muhyiddin Abdussomad called on Nahdliyin (NU followers) to take into account of NU's educational institutions. He said that the educational institutions had remained backward and the backwardness could be seen from the fact that many NU followers have yet to have high level of educational attainment and a large number of NU's schools have remained sleepy from enrolling students.

Jakarta, NU Online The House of Representatives' special committee debating the controversial pornography bill will allow tourists to wear bikinis at tourist resorts in a bid to ensure tourism is not negatively affected by the controversial legislation. "Tourists are allowed to wear bikinis in tourism resorts like Bali and Parang Tritis beach (in Yogyakarta). The porn bill will treat recreational and leisure areas differently," lawmaker Husein Abdul Azis of the Democratic Party said Thursday.

Jakarta, NU Online The Preaching Institution of Nahdlatul Ulama (LDNU) would invite Muslim organizations throughout Indonesia to attend a halalbihalal meeting that would reportedly be held at the headquarters of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) in Jakarta on 26 October ahead. The purposeful meeting is the collaboration between the LDNU and the Preaching Information Center chaired by KH Sukron Makmun. The organizations are Muhammadiyah, Indonesian Islamic Preaching Board, Islamic Union, Indonesian Muslim Youth Movement, Alawiyah, Tarbiyah Islamiyah, Al Washliyah and Al Khairat.
