President Yudhoyono asks people to maintain religious harmony

Bogor, NU Online President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono called on the people to continue creating and maintaining religious harmony among religious adherents without questioning their differences. The absence of trusteeship is the root of problem

The modern world will always rely on intellectuality in running their education. The problem of morality is no longer considered as part of academic importance. On account of this viewpoint the product of modern education will produce high qualified individuals rather than the ones whose high morality. The education is in turn organized solely for fulfilling job fields, pursuing material needs and not to meet life's perfection as the goal of education for traditional community. For the importance of the (perfection) goal, both morality and modesty will always be the main focus of traditional education especially the religious-based education. Many strategic institutions managed by smart graduates of the most respected and outstanding universities from within and outside the country have not brought developments and better change. Instead they have brought destruction. The 1998 monetary crisis in this country indicated the fact. Many professors and doctors mandated to control the Central Bank of Republic of Indonesia and hold ministerial posts have, admitted or not, made the nation's monetary and economy collapse. All this is not because of their incapability in dealing with monetary and real economic sectors. Rather they have no longer kept trusteeship (mandate) in properly using the state and people assets. As a result, they have collaborated  with brokers in corruption and collusion.
