Don`t make mistakes in religious propagation, Yudhoyono says

Serang, NU Online President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called on those in charge of religious propagation not to trigger conflicts among the community. In his address marking the opening of the 22nd National Koran Recital Contest (MTQ) in Serang, Banten Province, on Tuesday (17/6), the head of state appealed to religious leaders to seek the best solution to contradictory issues on misleading religious tenets.

Kuala Lumpur, NU Online Madurese NU followers (Nahdliyin) living in Malaysia has initiative to establish village level NU board around Kuala Lumpur exactly in Segambut Dalam (Kuala Lumpur) and Kayu Ara Damansara (Selangor). The purposeful initiative was following the visit of Bangkalan NU Branch Board R KH Fakhrillah As-Schal and his entourage to the office of Malaysia's NU Special branch Board (PCINU) in Kuala Lumpur on 31st May. During the visit there were also some appointed as committeemen of the establishment.

Gus Dur's PKB seeks Supreme Court help

Jakarta, NU Online The faction of the National Awakening Party (PKB) led by Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid submitted on Monday a letter to the Supreme Court to strengthen its legal position in regard to a court verdict favoring the rival PKB faction led by Muhaimin Iskandar. The faction is seeking "legal protection" from the Supreme Court while waiting for the South Jakarta District Court to issue a memorandum of appeal, Hermawi Taslim from the PKB central board said.

Gus Dur-led PKB rejects govt suggestion to reconcile with rival

Jombang, NU Online The executive board of the Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur-led Nation`s Awakening Party (PKB) continues to reject the government`s suggestion that it reconcile the Muhaimin Iskandar-led PKB, a spokesperson said. "In PKB we do not subscribe to reconciliation but amnesty. And Gus Dur himself has long offered amnesty to Cak Imin (as Muhaimin Iskandar is popularly called)," secretary general of Gur Dur-led PKB Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh said at the Tebuireng Islamic boarding school here on Saturday (14/6).

Many not satisfied about govt`s decree on Ahmadiyah

NU-Australia to cooperate in tackling global climate change

Jakarta, NU Online Indonesia's biggest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) agreed to cooperate with Australian government in tacking the phenomenon of global climate change.
