Indonesia-styled maddrassa recognized in international level

Jakarta, NU Online Islamic schools (madrassa) in Indonesia have for long time tried to meet their targeted goals. As a result the their existence as religious educational institutions have now been recognized in international level especially by the member countries of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).   The Director General of Islamic Education of the Department of Religious Affairs Dr Mohammad Ali made the remark after his meeting with the Philipines' education delegates here on Thursday (10/4).

PBNU to settle NTB's NU leadership

Jakarta, NU Online After conducting long meeting and discussion, the leadership of Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board of West (NTB) Nusa Tenggara has recently been agreed and would focus on programs as mandated in its regional conference. Surabaya, NU Online Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari on Wednesday (April 9) is scheduled to inaugurate a Japanese funded polyclinic of Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java province, a spokesman said. Arvil Syahadat, information officer at the Japanese Consulate General in Surabaya told Antara here on Tuesday (8/4) that the poly-clinic was funded under a Japanese government`s grant worth US$82,341, the equivalent of Rp 745 million.
