Ahmadinejad Planning to Attend Shanghai Summit

Tehran, NU Online Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is due to pay a visit to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan mid August to attend a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Also during the trip, Ahmadinejad is scheduled to hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with presidents and senior officials of participating countries, including his Russian, Chinese, Pakistani, Tajik, Kazakh and Uzbek counterparts, to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues.

Police: No indication about impending bombing attack in Bali

Denpasar, NU Online Police personnel in the field  have so far not found any indication that another terrorist bombing attack is going to happen in Bali as intimated in a travel advisory issued by the Australian government, a police spokesman said. NU: Transnational political movement could undermine the NKRI credibility

UN human rights commission chief to visit Indonesia

Jakarta, NU Online Chief of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights Louise Arbour is expected to pay a working visit here on July 9-14 at the invitation of the Indonesian government, an officer of the  UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)  said on Sunday. Arbour’s visit will be a support for Indonesian efforts to promote and protect the human rights, both in the national and international region, Laksmita Noviera said.

Muladi: RI should revoke defense cooperation with Singapore

Jakarta, NU Online Muladi, governor of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas), said Indonesia should have the courage to revoke its defense cooperation agreement (DCA) with Singapore if the two sides cannot agree on the accord`s implementing arrangements. The agreement should be revoked if Singapore is reluctant to continue discussing the cooperation agreement signed last April, Muladi said here on Thursday.
