UKP3P frozen, says NU Chairman citing Vice President

Jakarta, NU OnlineThe Presidential Working Unit to Manage Programs and Reforms (UKP3R) has been frozen and this was agreed at Friday’s meeeting between President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono dan Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla,  Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Chairman Hasyim Muzadi said. Hasyim, leader of the largest Muslim organization in the country, made the remark after a meeting with the vice president at the latter’s residence on Jalan Diponegoro in central Jakarta on Saturday.

Ansor-RCTI to help Mabarot orphanage and Krapyak Islamic boarding school

Yogyakarta, NU OnlineAnsor Youth Movement (PG Ansor) in cooperation with one of Indonesia’s private television stations RCTI has assisted the victims of last May’s quake hitting Yogyakarta by reconstructing an orphanage of Mabarot Orphan Foundation in Daraman, Sri Martani, Piyungan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The reconstruction of the seven-room-building financed by television viewers through a program called as RCTI Care Fund was direcly installed by the General Chairman of GP Ansor and also Minister for Underdeveloped Regions Saefullah Yusuf, accompanied by RCTI’s representative Gilang Iskandar, Thursday.

The team will be reportedly taught and trained in order to get such required acquisition dealing with the rukyat system. Those who take part in the training will be certified by the country’s largest Muslim organization. They would be also introduced by special devices to sight hilal (moon).

Palu, NU OnlineVice President Jusuf Kalla failed to meet Moslem and Christian leaders jointly to settle the conflict in Poso,  scheduled in Palu, the capital of Central Sulawesi province, on Monday (30/10). Spokesman for the Central Sulawesi administration Jethan Towakit as reported by the national news agency Antara said the meeting had been cancelled because the Idul Fitri gathering and separate  meetings the vice president had held with the leaders of the two communities before had been considered sufficient.
