"The Pope has apologized (to Muslims) and that’s enough so let’s calm down," Hasyim said after a function marking a cooperation with NU and the Judicial Commission here on Monday.

Muhaimin to support interpellation right on rice import

Manado, NU OnlineThe deputy speaker of Indonesia’s parliament Muhaimin Iskandar said on Saturday (16/9) that he himself did support the interpellation right proposed by the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle over the government decision to import 210 thousands tons of rice this year. “The demand of the PDI-P faction and 27 members of House of Representatives is necessary to follow up in so far as the rice import policy has had such damaging impact on society,” said Muhaimin at a meeting with boards of North Sulawesi’s Ansor Youth Movement (GP Ansor).

NU Committee of Astrology will conduct Astrological education and training

Jakarta, NU Onlinewithin the frame of forming excellent cadres in the field of astrology, Nahdlatul Ulama Committee of Astrology (Lajnah Falakiyah NU) will conduct a basic national education and training (Diklat) on Hisab and Rukyat on September 15-17 in Asrama Haji, Pondok Gede, Jakarta. The diklat would be reportedly attended by around 64 persons coming from NU autonomous bodies or institutions, and numbers of representatives from both NU regional and branch boards (PWNU/PCNU) of Zona I consisting of three provinces, namely Jakarta, Banten and West Java.
